I just have a few question for today.... Why do you think that Mordecai was never honored for saving the king? How do you think you would feel if you were Haman thinking the king was going to honor you and then realize he means to honor the very person you were getting ready to kill? Can you image walking through the streets in shame as the man you hate is sitting on the kings horse being honored? What do you think Haman was thinking when he was told he could not stand against Mordecai or his people? Now off to another banquet!
Haven't heard from many of you.... if you are still with us and studying - let us know! Have a blessed week! See you Wednesday!

So I am still with you...I'm finally posting a comment.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how mortified Haman felt as he was walking Mordecai on his horse. Especially since he believed that he was going to be the one that was honored.
I know that it must have taken a lot of courage.
That's something that I probably couldn't do myself.
This study is definitely making me think about situations in my life and think about how I would handle them.
I believe the reason that Mordecai was not honored was becuase he was a very humble jewish man. Mordecai was well versed in the Torah and I bet he never went around bragging about himself to others or telling them about his accomplishments. We do not always need to tell others about something we have done. God will honor us in due time. As far as Haman is concerned, I bet he was cleanching his teeth while smiling at the same time. I also think he was breathing out fire and that fire was coming out of his nose and ears. He was one mad person filled with pride and deceit. But, he masked it very well while Mordeci was on the horse. Pride is so dangerous and sinful. No self help books can get rid of pride. Only the holy spirit can convict us of pride and only Jesus can purify us to full rightousness.
